Wow! I've really slipped on updating this blog! It's been over 2 years since I even accessed my website. I guess sometimes life really does get in the way!
With Lughnasadh quickly approaching, I suppose it is only fitting to let go of the regrets of not keeping up with my website!
Lughnasadh (named after the Irish deity Lugh) is the first of three Harvest Sabbats. It is the festival of regrets and farewells. As the Sun God is waning, the Goddess is abundant and brings forth the harvest to get us through the winter. Even as the Sun God wanes, He lives on inside the Goddess as Her child.
"Lughnasadh, also known as August Eve, Feast of Bread, Harvest Home and Lammas wasn't necessarily observed on this day; it originally coincided with the first reapings. As summer passes, Wiccans remember its warmth and bounty in the food we eat.
